Make the Very Most of Your iPhone 4S

If you have an iPhone 4S, then you have an incredibly powerful piece of technology, that is also equally innovative and transformative in the way that you will use it to accomplish hundreds of tasks more quickly and more easily than you would have before. The iPhone 4S is the latest iPhone meaning that it has all the features of those before it - GPS, compass, high speed always-on internet connectivity, highly powerful specs (in terms of CPU and RAM etc), impressive design, excellent software and the amazing app store; but also many more such as the highly impressive 'retina' display and the beautiful glass casing.

Some people however don't take full advantage of this. They pay a lot of money for the 'status' of owning an iPhone 4s, and for the way it looks and feels, and yet they never really use it to its fullest - instead using it to just browse the web and maybe read the news. If you are only going to surf the web then really you may as well have bought something much cheaper and saved yourself the money - your iPhone deserves to be used for more than just making and taking calls.

But perhaps you simply didn't know what your phone was capable of? When there are so many features it can understandably be hard to get acquainted with all of them. Here then are a few ways you can start getting more from your iPhone right now.

Use iCloud: iCloud is a service that comes with your iPhone 4S and which allows you to save yourself a lot of money while at the same enjoying a lot more connectivity and even back up. What iCloud does in short is to let you store your files on a server and then access them via 'the cloud' from any device. In short then, your apps are no longer on your phone, but instead exist online for you to use from any location. It means you have a lot more space, and at the same time it means you never get caught without your files (and goodbye to irritating 'syncing').

Get High Def Software: Your iPhone 4S has something called a 'retina' screen, and that's largely what puts it above the other iPhones before it. This screen is so high definition, that the human eye wouldn't be able to detect the difference if it went much higher. It is not quite, but almost the same resolution as our biology.

However in order to make the most of that you need apps that take advantage of that high definition and that contain that kind of crisp definition in their graphics. There are a few games that have this HD display, and a few other apps. You should download a few of them as a showcase.

Read App Reviews: There are plenty of free websites that review the latest iPhone apps. It's worth reading these so that you can invest in those apps that you think will benefit you most. Maybe you'd like a running app to track your jogging progress? Or maybe your iPhone could be put to good use as a remote mouse for your laptop?

There are tonnes of things a Zwee iPhone 4S can do. Click ' Zwee ' to pick up your own and start taking advantage of those features.

Marketing Tips for an iPhone App Developer

The job of an iPhone or Android app developer does not end when their output is launched. The new app should be considered a product that must be promoted to appeal to the right consumers. No one would download your app if they do not know what it is.

One problem app developers overlook is the lack of marketing budget. Oftentimes, app developers expend most of their resources on the development. Little is left for everything else-such as marketing afterwards. Then again, marketing your product is possible, despite the tough budget.

People who need to promote their products, but with a tough budget, usually rely on social media. Twitter is one of the most popular social networking sites. You can make a Twitter account to promote your product. The first thing to do is sign up for a Twitter account for your app. Then, the next thing you should do is encourage people to follow you. But, social media marketing is a multifaceted process. Create a blog, Facebook account, and a YouTube channel. Direct people from these sites to your twitter account to follow you. You can also post a link of your videos or blog posts on your tweets.

Create a how-to video.

It's better to give instructions on how to play your game app in a video than in text. People browsing through the app store would not know which one to pick until learning about your game application. You will appear friendlier to your patrons if you give them something about your product that is worth taking a look at. If you made a game application, show them videos on how to play it. You don't need to buy a professional video camera. Even a simple video taken in your room is enough. There are video sharing sites where you can upload your creations. YouTube and Vimeo are the most popular. Share your videos on your blog, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.

Create a blog.

Blogging is more convenient than building a website. You can create a blog in minutes and start blogging about your application. Make your blog your platform for your creations. People who come across your application on the internet will want to know more about it. They will search for it on Google and expect to find information about it. Who else will provide the information about it other than the iPhone app developer himself? Make sure you update your blog every now and then.

Give out promos.

Apple allows iPhone app producers to download a maximum of 50 application promo codes that the iTunes Store accepts. Of course, you have to spread the word about this limited number of promo codes on your Facebook or Twitter pages. That is one way to create a buzz. You can tell your friends about the promo codes and ask them to spread the word. People may come hurrying to get a promo code. The goal is to make as many people as you can, know about your product, even though not all of them will eventually buy it.

Write a press release.

Another way to create a buzz is to write press releases about your new application. Make sure that it's engaging. Tell the world about your new product, for example, inform readers about its interesting features. Then, direct them to your website or blog at the end of the write-up.

The Work of an iPhone App Developer

Becoming an iPhone or Android app developer is tough business. Developing apps for iPhones, for instance, entails much more than learning and mastering Objective C. When you have learned the programming language, the next thing for you to do is start working. Designing your app would take months, depending on the kind of app you are making, and your skill in working with Objective C and other programs. The stage when you actually work on a project is the most grueling. After that, you are not done yet.

The next thing to do is to join the iPhone Developer Program to be an official developer. Aspiring Android app producers should register in the Android market. That is, if you want to release what you think is a masterpiece. Signing up is not free - you need to pay 99 dollars. Of course, Apple has terms and conditions for signing up. Should you wait till your project is done before signing up? There is no need to wait that long. You can join the online community even if you are still halfway from finishing your work. Once your app is ready, you can have it tested on a true iPhone. When you are part of the Developer Program, you will become eligible to utilize an iPhone gadget. During the test, you will notice some glitches, so you have to tweak your app to polish it.

When you are done, the next thing is to submit your finished product to the App Store. The process of sending your finished work is fairly easy. It involves uploading it with a description and screenshots. Apple would take time to check sent apps. Those that get approved will be placed in the App Store. Faulty ones will, of course, be rejected. When your work is rejected, you can modify it some more and resubmit it as many times as you wish.

What happens when your work does get to the App Store? Expectedly, some users will report issues. That means your work is not yet finished after your work gets approved and sold. Now and then, you may need to alter your app to solve issues experienced by gamers. Improving your work means satisfaction on the part of the users.

There is a need to promote your work! It's not enough that you create a fantastic game application. If no one notices it on the App Store, it's nothing. So, create a buzz about your creation - talk about it on your social media network, online gaming communities and forum sites. You should also write articles, blog posts and press releases about it. Do not expect wild attention at first. In fact, do not expect it, ever. There are thousands of applications, so it may take time for yours to be noticed, but it should sell, otherwise, there is something wrong with it. You could track how many downloads it gets in a day. Reading user feedback is absolutely necessary.

Being an iPhone app developer is hard, but the accomplishment and earnings could be worth the effort. Besides being well versed with Objective C, you should also be creative and imaginative. Remember, you create the application-the program language is merely a tool.

iPhone 4S - I Can Haz Kittehs?

It's the 21st Century, which means that even crazy old cat ladies have become accustomed to using technology. Long gone are the days where they hid in a house on the hill, emerging occasionally to terrify the local brats. No, now crazy cat ladies can be found everywhere! That cute girl whose number you got in the pub last weekend could very well be hiding a clowder of cats at home!

You may not be aware of it, but 43% of the women you meet on a daily basis can be classified as 'cat ladies' and many of them will be brandishing an iPhone 4S. Why that particular phone, you wonder? Well, everyone knows that Steve Jobs was a secret cat-lover, and the iPhone has the kitty apps to prove it. In fact, the more you look at the iPhone 4S and its swanky features, the more you start to appreciate that it was designed by a cat-lover, for all the cat ladies and men of the world.

Most obviously, that 8MP camera isn't for taking pictures of your friends sipping on WKD down the pub. No, that camera is made for taking photographs of your kitty looking simply adorable. You can then upload it straight to Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr using one of your fancy social networking apps, remembering to add a suitably cute caption such as "Snuggles luvz his Mummy" - your friends will find it adorable.

Of course, it's not just a camera that makes the iPhone 4S perfect for kitty lovers; just look at the iPhone 4S' design. This is a touchscreen phone, perfect for kitty paws to play with. So next time you're playing Angry Birds, make sure little Timmy gets a shot too.

If that doesn't get you drooling in excitement, you can even Facetime with your beloved kitty. Your baby will need a responsible adult to help him/her out, but just imagine the relief you'll get from enjoying some Facetime with your loved one during your lunch break.

The cattiest part of your iPhone 4S, however, is its apps. There are, after all, a multitude of cat-friendly apps out there to satisfy even the most ardent kitty lovers. The most notable one of these has to be the exceptional Angry Cat - an app so cute it can reduce grown men to tears.

Angry Cat, a name-fulfilling app, is simple. You just poke that angry looking Siamese in the bath - at your own risk though as he gets pretty darn angry. If angering the superior species isn't really your thing, then Talking Tom Cat might be a better option for your iPhone. Talking Tom is a virtual pet who's also super smart - anything you say to him he'll repeat right back. You can pour him milk, pet him and even tickle this little cutie. Just beware of making your real kitties jealous, or your beloved iPhone 4S could have a set of claws dragged across its screen. Virtual kitties are all well and good, but there's no substitute for the real thing.

You can read an in-depth iPhone 4S review at the mobile phone comparison website Best Mobile Contracts.

The Truth Behind iPhone Development

Those people who have said that it is easy to become an iPhone developer, is the biggest lie! Although you can find iPhone development tools that allow you to go through the do-it-yourself method, app development largely relies on skill. Those who want to come up with professional mobile applications should invest in learning not just the basics, but the ins and outs of mobile graphics, user interface, and integration. DIY tools available on the internet may take you as far as being an amateur, but if you want to become a serious professional, there is much work needed.

You have to be an actual developer.

Independent developers are those who have to work their way from scratch. They have limited resources than established application development companies. However, many people have actually succeeded in being an independent app developer. Perhaps, the tricky combination of good resources, exceptional skill, and sheer luck made a difference. It doesn't always mean, though, that anyone can become an app superstar with limited resources. For a novice to accomplish something really impressive that sells, must be really good.

The DIY templates can be of good use to beginners in the industry. With such templates, they can discover and learn the procedure of application development, but they are too limited to offer flexibility to producers.

Are DIY app development tools rubbish?

No! As long as you do not expect too much, they can be useful. DIY tools are for a specific group of people, specifically those who consider application making as a hobby. The tools are actually helpful in introducing you to the complex world of software development. However, you cannot stay with your simple, basic tools if you aspire to become a professional app developer. You have to level up and become better. Majority of professional looking iPhone applications are not made with DIY tools.

Can you just hire an iPhone developer?
You always can. But you should know that professionals do not take work for free. They require advanced deposits, and would not hesitate canceling your offer for bigger opportunities elsewhere. Your idea of a great application may be compelling, but developers have to pay their bills, as well.

Talented producers would usually become part of iPhone development companies, and they earn over a hundred thousand dollars a year. These professionals earn an income so good, that they cannot abandon their job for a no-pay one. Even though your application idea looks promising, you could barely find a professional that would work on the venture for free.

Lesson: You pay the developer first!

An advance payment seems reasonable. Yours is simply the idea. Its implementation is the real task, which is grueling. A producer would work for weeks on a single task, and it's impossible for him to accept that piece of job without expecting any compensation. At the same time, he or she would also consider those who are willing to take the risk. What if the application he develops fails in the market and he wasn't paid in the first place? Will he just accept the fact that he will not receive a pay after weeks of intense work? No developer would think like that. The risk should be shared by both the client and the developer.

The iPhone 5 Will Be A Significant Release

The iPhone 5 will be one of the most significant releases of this year and will end much anticipation as to what technical features or specifications the handset will offer. However, in the time leading up to its release it is still possible to ascertain from the widespread rumours and the features of the iPhone 4S as to what this handset may bring.

The handset is most likely to look similar to its nearest predecessor although one rumour has suggested that the Retina display may be increased in size from 3.5 inches up to 4 respectively. This would be more advantageous especially as more people move to the iPhone for its Game Center providing gaming along with those who love to watch movies and TV shows on their smartphone. Gaming is already taking off for the phone series as the Center enables you to find friends and make new ones in order to play form a wide range of games. This social gaming is likely to get better still for this handset especially as it is about to come to the Mac desktop environment also. For example you can play games such as Chess with a friend on your phone or invite someone you do not know to play against you, the leader board then displays each of your results.

The iPhone 5 will also possibly bring the launch of the next iOS operating platform which the handsets, as well as iPad and iPod Touch, are all running. This would be iOS 6 and as we have seen particularly with new releases in this phone series, a totally new number tends to mean a totally new iOS number as well. This would all coincide nicely with a new processor as well, and with other manufacturers now releasing quad core powered phones are Apple going to only move to dual core or go the whole way? This is the same question for the main camera, which we would assume to be at least 12 megapixels and accompanied by a dual LED flash. What is for sure is that full High Definition video will be possible.

Having looked at some of the possible features of the iPhone 5 it is clear that it will be the next best thing for any phone user to have. Less certain is what exactly the next best thing is going to consist of, but if any of these rumours are true, it will be something great.

Where to Discuss the Best iPhone Apps and Best Android Apps

Find a place to discuss apps

Getting information on where to get new applications for your smartphone without someone trying to sell you a product can be tricky business unless you know the places to look. A lot of the more popular ones come about from word of mouth and recommendation from friends and colleagues. However it wouldn't it be nice to get a place to hang out and discuss the newest and most popular apps on the market.

There is plenty of content online and marketing campaigns to lure people in to buy apps, but a much safer bet is to do some research on the product you are looking for first of all. Such a place to do this would be a web forum or blog in order to get information and advice.

Why discuss apps?

Applications for smart phone products cost money and do not offer a refund from when it is purchased. Therefore it is important that the correct item is bought initially. This is particularly relevant when it comes to Apple and iTunes products as uninstalling the item or removing it from your iTunes account can prove nearly impossible. Once bought, it remains.

Another reason to discuss before purchase is that some items do not come cheap and can cost a tidy sum only for the customer to find out that it does not do the required function or does not quite meet the standards that they were expecting. Because of this, it is important to discuss the purchase of these types of products before hand, or at least try and get some advice on them before handing over the virtual cash.

This is where online communities and forums come in to their element.

Forums for information

With a web forum it is likely that pin pointing the requirements you need in a smartphone application can be filtered through to the particular device you have. Therefore this means if your device is an iPhone, you can ask other Apple users their thoughts on the product and what they would recommend as an alternative. Again, there is probably a place that Android users can turn to also to get their sources on the best free apps for example.

Friendly forum communities such as App Talk allow like minded individuals to gain the knowledge about applications before proceeding with a purchase and help others with help and advice along the way.

Here's some more good news for jailbreakers, especially iPhone 4 users. pod2G has just confirmed that he has successfully performed an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4 running on iOS 5.0.1.
Couple of days back pod2G who has been a member of the Chronic Dev team had demoed an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 on an iPod touch but had hinted that it should work on iPhone 4.
However, few minutes back he has confirmed that he has managed to successfully perform an untethered jailbreak even on an iPhone 4 running on iOS 5.0.1:
Got an untethered iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. Feel free to update.
Of course, if you want to SIM unlock, don't update using Apple's original FW nor update OTA.
As pod2G has mentioned, please do not update your iOS 5.0.1 if you rely on a software method to unlock your iPhone.
pod2g hasn't provided any ETA on when the tool to jailbreak iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1 (untethered) will be released to the public. It remains to be seen if pod2G's untethered jailbreak will support iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.

Apple Gets Network Access Permit For iPhone 4S In China; Launch Imminent

Couple of weeks back we had reported that Apple had received an approval for iPhone 4S  from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) - the state agency in China that regulates the Internet and wireless communications. But they had to wait for the network access permit to start selling their new iPhone in the country.
M.I.C Gadget now reports that Apple has received the network access permit for iPhone 4S.
M.I.C Gadget reports:
the 4S had cleared the required MIIT regulatory hurdles and the device obtained a three-year valid Radio Transmission Equipment Type Approval Certificate (RTETAC), which is one of the requirements for getting MIIT’s network access license. The model submitted for testing was compatible with GSM, WCDMA, HSDPA / HSUPA, Bluetooth, and WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure).
M.I.C Gadget reports that Apple and China Unicom's, Apple's iPhone carrier partner in China, are hoping to launch iPhone 4S this month.
the iPhone 4S has finally been granted the permit, and China Unicom is now expecting to launch the device this month. The company told Chinese news website Sohu that the preparation work for sales channel, staff training and network testing is completed. They will try their best to make the iPhone 4S’s arrival official by Christmas and New Year.

M.I.C Gadget reports that China Unicom expects the 16GB iPhone 4S to be available for 4,999 yuan (approximately $789) without contract, which is more expensive than US prices, where a 16GB iPhone 4S is available for $649, but cheaper than India where the entry level iPhone 4S is available for approximately $875.

What’s On My iPhone 4S? Gaming Edition

If you’re a gamer, then the iPhone 4S upgrade is worth it for that reason alone. Games run much smoother, and in some cases they’ve been upgraded to take advantage of the new hardware.
The iOS platform is ridiculously good for games, but an iPhone 4S makes playing them even sweeter. Inside, I’ll share some of the games I’m playing right now on my iPhone 4S…

I used to be a big console gamer about 15-20 years ago, but recently I fell out of the hobby. Games were much better back then, get off my lawn, yadda, yadda, yadda.
I don’t own a console anymore, so the iPhone has become my main gaming platform. Thankfully, it’s been blessed with some wonderful games over the years and it will only get better.
Nintendo? I suggest you get on board now before the train permanently leaves the station.
The games featured in this video are as follows: 1-bit Ninja ($1.99), Eden – World Builder ($0.99), Blueprint3D ($0.99), Slam Dunk King (Free), and Asphalt 6 ($0.99).
All of the aforementioned games are a lot of fun, but out of all them the most unique is Blueprint3D. It’s a wonderfully calming game with excellent music and a never tackled before premise. Check it out.
What do you think about my selection of games, and what are you currently playing on your iPhone; 4S or otherwise?

iPhone 4S Moves One Step Closer to Mainland China

Apple’s latest smartphone, the iPhone 4S, is arguably the year’s hottest handset. Not only did the company sell 4 million 4S’ during the device’s opening weekend, but the smartphone is still flying off of retailer’s shelves a month later.
The handset is so popular, in fact, that carriers are having trouble keeping up with consumer demand — Apple can’t make them quick enough. And the phone hasn’t even found its way into mainland China yet, but it’s getting closer…
Sina, a Chinese tech publication, is reporting that the iPhone 4S has just been approved by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. MIIT is a state agency in China that oversees the regulation and development of the internet and wireless networks.
This is kind of a big deal because it means that Apple’s new smartphone is getting closer to launching in mainland China. Although the handset is already available in Hong Kong, major carriers like China Unicom and China Mobile have yet to offer the device.
The word on the street is that China Mobile and Apple haven’t finalized a deal just yet, but China Unicom is said to be chomping at the bit to carry the phone. The two carriers combine for nearly a billion subscribers, so needless to say they’re very important.
After a disappointing third quarter, Apple told investors that they expect $37 billion dollars in revenue in Q4. Getting the iPhone 4S going in China would certainly help with that, but it would also add to the handset’s growing supply problems.

Apple Airs Commercials Featuring iCloud, Siri, iPhone 4S Camera

With each new product release, Apple launches a whole new advertising campaign around whatever fancy new features have been added, and the iPhone 4S is no exception.
Starting today, Apple is airing three new ads to help spread the word about the “most amazing iPhone yet.” The 30-second spots feature iCloud, Siri, and the supercharged 8 megapixel camera packed into the iPhone 4S. And in typical Apple fashion, we’re not sure where real products end and the hype machine begins…
The iCloud ad revolves around syncing and downloading, with the ad showing off iTunes in the iCloud as well as iWork syncing across iPhones and iPads. Apple is also keen to show off Photo Stream, too, with photos being taken of adorable kids and being instantly beamed back to an iMac.
Magical, indeed.

The second of the three ads shows off Siri, in an unusually muted video. That is, you don’t hear the ad’s voice-over guy until right at the end, with Apple seemingly happy to let Siri do the talking for itself.
All the usual demo material is present: checking a calendar, reading a text message, and asking what the weather will be doing at a random point in time. We’ve all seen it before, but it is the exact kind of thing that will get people interested.

The final ad covers the iPhone 4S’ new 8 megapixel camera, with red-eye reduction and cropping also shown off for good measure.
Apple also points out that perhaps you don’t need a separate camera if you own a 4S. A point that many have made since getting their hands on Apple’s latest iPhone.

Apple’s ads always attract —not that the iPhone 4S has been struggling—and showing Siri off to people that might not already understand it is probably a very good idea.
Now we just wait for the next quarter’s earnings call to see how well these ads have payed off!

The Truth About the iPhone 4 Siri Port [Updated]

A few hours ago a video was posted by esteemed jailbreak developer chpwn (Grant Paul) and Steven Troughton-Smith. Multiple stories from different sources have been published on a Siri port for non-iPhone 4S hardware, and this most recent video demonstrates the software running on an iPhone 4 and 4th generation iPod touch.
There have been multiple parties working on a Siri port on and off for weeks now. It’s not a new fact that the Siri UI can be run on non-4S hardware. The real magic happens when Siri is able to talk back to you…

As you can see in the above videos, Steven and Grant have been able to get Siri connecting with Apple’s server. Performance is smooth and Siri responds very quickly.
The first public evidence for a Siri port to the iPhone 4 was posted by Steve Troughton-Smith weeks ago in conjunction with Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac. A second video was posted showing performance enhancements, but Siri would still not connect with the device. Only the Siri UI had been ported, not the full package.
It’s all changed since then.
Any type of Siri port for the public is very much not ready for prime time. There’s still a lot of work to be done.
Update: This article has been heavily amended to better respect all parties involved.

AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon iPhone Plans Compared

As soon as Apple announced October 14th as the release date for the new iPhone 4S on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, potential buyers began wondering which carrier would be the right option.
Now that AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint all offering the iPhone, everyone is looking at the pros and cons of each carrier. With that in mind, Macworld has put together a comprehensive comparison of the choices for new iPhone owners on all three US carriers…
The comparison, carried out by Macworld’s Joe Mathis, goes into the differences in pricing and tariff structure across the three carriers now offering the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S to customers.

Sprint’s lowest voice plan is $70, which is considerably more expensive than the base options of $40 for both AT&T and Verizon. But that’s not the whole story, with Sprint offering savings elsewhere.

Family plans are a very similar story. AT&T’s lowest plan comes in at $60 for 550 minutes, while Verizon’s cheapest option is $70 for 700 minutes.
AT&T also offer the same type of plan, too, should AT&T be your carrier of choice for a reason other than cost. Sprint is where things start to get a little expensive, with their base family plan coming in at a whopping $130, although you do get 1,500 minutes. Sprint is still expensive, with both AT&T and Verizon offering 1400 minutes for $90. That’s quite a disparity.

Text messaging plans are where Sprint starts to even the playing field. While AT&T and Verizon both charge 20 cents per message, all messages on Sprint are included in their data plans. Yes, Sprint’s competition does offer bundles of texts at set fees, but when you add those on, the voice plans start to even out slightly.

When it comes to data, Sprint is again the cheapest option, offering unlimited data for just $10 per month. To get the same unlimited bits elsewhere is difficult — as all other carriers no longer offer unlimited data plans.
Tethering options are also available on all three carriers.
Nobody can tell you which carrier is best for you, and the carrier you choose may very well depend on the coverage in your area, rather than price and features. If you’re on a family plan, that could also change your outlook on a new contract, so be sure to check what your current deal offers you before moving.
It’s certainly a minefield out there, but choice is always a good thing.
Let us know what carrier you decided to go with for the iPhone, and why! Are you switching carriers for the iPhone 4S?

Tweet Speaker for iPhone Lets You Listen to Your Twitter Feed

The developers at App Cubby have created a beautiful app called Tweet Speaker to let you listen to your Twitter timeline.
This unique Twitter client effectively turns your Twitter feed into a radio station for your listening pleasure. Tweets are read aloud in succession. We may have found the perfect Twitter app for driving and leisurely catching up on tweets…
Following the announcement of Apple’s own “Siri” voice technology, it’s interesting to see an app like Tweet Speaker take a different approach to the all-too-familiar genre of Twitter apps. Like Siri, Tweet Speaker does the work for you — only in this case it’s limited to your Twitter account.
What’s great about Tweet Speaker is that it actually works. There are tons of voice-related apps in the App Store that can be a hit or miss, but Tweet Speaker definitely finds the sweet spot.

Once you’ve authenticated your Twitter account, Tweet Speaker will start queuing up tweets to read. The app is super easy to use, and there’s very minimal configuration required. There is support for Tweet Marker (a fantastic service for keeping your Twitter timeline position synced across different apps). You can also send links to Instapaper, which I love. AirPlay support lets you send audio to your big speakers when you’re at home.
The radio dial at the bottom of the app acts as your reference for where you are in your Twitter stream. You can select your main timeline, replies, or lists and then hit play to have Tweet Speaker read your tweets aloud as they come in.

The voice for Tweet Speaker isn’t customizable, but App Cubby promises that more voices are coming in future updates. For now, one voice will have to do.
Playback worked pretty well in testing. Tweet Speaker will fetch the titles for links and correctly dictate usernames and hashtags most of the time. Listening to your tweets isn’t something you’ll probably won’t to do all of the time, but every now and then it can be helpful — especially if you have a refined list of Twitter accounts you follow that you want to make sure you stay on top of.
As a Twitter client, Tweet Speaker offers a nice amount of features while keeping its focus on the voice aspect. You can unfollow/follow, reply, retweet, and swipe through tweets manually in the card-like interface above the radio dial. Everything works very nicely.
Tweet Speaker is available for $2.99 in the App Store. It’s probably not for everyone, but if having your tweets read aloud sounds like something you may be interested in, definitely give this app a try.
Let us know what you think of Tweet Speaker in the comments below!
